The Donation Jar Program

Pennies donation jar program benefits local anti-poverty agencies and local businesses.Look for the small, clear plastic, containers, with the Pennies for Poverty logo and a small printed message.

Local businesses, including farm stands and fresh fish stores, place donation jars at their registers. Pennies uses the money collected to buy gift cards from local businesses and then donates those cards to local anti-poverty agencies. In this way, the agencies can provide items — from farm fresh vegetables to children’s shoes — that they otherwise may not be able to give to needy families.
