Understanding Life in Johnstown, Pa – a once thriving steel town

Gain an understanding the Appalachian Rust Belt and the Politics of Despair in the 2016 Election. Eileen White Springer, author of “Steel City Girl,” will present her experience and research from her life in Johnstown, PA, where once thriving steel mills are now closed and despair is rampant. Eileen is a policy researcher and analyst in the fields of education and criminal justice. She holds a masters degree in economics and mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University and recently moved to Newburyport, MA.
