Local Poverty Matters Addresses Housing…Mayor Holaday to Speak

March 22, 2015

Newburyport Mayor Donna Holaday will be the guest speaker at the next Local Poverty Matters Discussion Group on Wednesday April 1. Her topic will be “Newburyport’s Efforts to Increase our Low Income and Affordable Housing Numbers.”
• What steps are in process by the City to ensure a diverse community?
• How can our organization help to speed progress?
• What can ordinary citizens do to support the city’s efforts to remain a home for all?
These are the questions that we hope Mayor Holaday will address.

We meet from 7-8PM in the lower level classrooms of the First Religious Society Unitarian Universalist Church, 26 Pleasant St. Newburyport. Local Poverty Matters is jointly sponsored by the First Religious Society Social Action Committee and by Pennies for Poverty. The session is free and open to the public.
